Popularised by American fitness guru David Goggins, the gruelling challenge involves running four miles (6.4km) every four hours for 48 hours. Inspired from David Gaggins, I started Goggins Challenge with two runners (Lina Ambruleviciute and Sergey Cataev) at 7 pm on Friday, May 22nd, and finished the 12th leg around 4 pm (having started at 3 pm) on Sunday, May 24th.

A quick summary about the challenge from the legend himself:

It was a memorable experience and we did have regular check in calls if all of us were doing well and keeping up with the challenge. At some point (7 PM run on May 23rd) when I was running with Molly, I literally had to shut everything down and focus on putting one foot in front of the other, and just blindly follow her. I couldn’t even manage to run 4 miles and was ready to give up. To sum it up, here’s the post that I made after finishing the challenge:

Two important things that I did learn doing this challenge —
a) Not many people will be with you in the journey of your life. So, the important thing is appreciate the people who are in the thick and thin of your life.
b) You need to be the person who re-grounds yourself and builds yourself back up when you’re experiencing bad times. You are your own foundation.

The whole idea of doing this was to push myself slightly outside of normal routines and workout schedules, to challenge myself mentally and physically, to experience a little bit of sleep deprivation, irritability, soreness and mild suffering. At the end, it made me remind of how badass I am when times get hard! It is a reminder of all that I have overcome and accomplished!

Be humble and modest! Stay hard!
